Memory made tangible
At Hypsos, we take pride in the complexity and beauty of the projects we realize. A perfect example of this is the Torah Ark, a 2.7-ton installation featuring 17 engraved glass panels. The greatest challenge was not only the physical installation of the 17 glass panels, but also achieving a flawless, scratch-free finish; every detail had to be perfect. With the right technology and cleaning agents, we were able to deliver exceptional quality, even under the most complex conditions. In addition to craftsmanship, the technical side of this project required innovative solutions. From lifting the heavy glass into place with a glass robot to reinforcing the floor, every step required precision and meticulous execution down to the millimeter.
The Lost Shtetl Museum in Šeduva brings the world of the Lithuanian shtetls closer once again. Located next to the restored historic Jewish cemetery, the museum tells the story of the Jewish community of Šeduva, from daily life and community spirit to destruction and remembrance. The ambition: a museum experience where historical research is palpable, without losing the sensitivity of the subject. Hypsos realized the design by Ralph Appelbaum Associates and translated the content into a fully built exhibition of 878 m². As the main contractor, Hypsos coordinated engineering, interior design, graphics, display cases, AV, lighting, multimedia, and show control, in close consultation with the client, designers, and more than twenty parties on site. Through value engineering, quality, planning, and budget remained in balance.
