Hypsos worked with J/Newbold Associates, the client’s New York based designer, to bring to life sketches and drawings of a sandcastle dragon children’s play area for one of Kuwait City’s biggest shopping malls.
Starting with a tabletop scale model, Hypsos was responsible for creating the two-storey attraction, complete with structural steel, GRP sculpted panels, kid friendly materials, and specialized lighting, all compliant with local building codes and ordinances.
The dragon features straight and spiral slides, a sand pit, a soft play climbing area, and party rooms. The entire area is enclosed and a soft floor installed so parents can let their children explore and have fun in a safe environment. The client has successfully created special programs around the dragon, including birthday parties, kid’s music club and other group activities.
