Johnson & Johnson Pavilion at the Beijing Olympics
Johnson & Johnson, working with Thinc Design and Urban A&O, wanted to create a highly interactive and contemporary sponsor pavilion for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Hypsos was responsible for delivering the complete pavilion located on the Olympic Green. The scope of the project included construction of the pavilion, interior and exhibition fit-out, multimedia installation and programming, and extensive landscaping with signature bamboo and water features. The total area of the three-storey pavilion with gardens was 5000 m2.
The Exhibition and VIP areas reflected the Johnson & Johnson mission statement “Caring for the world, one person at a time”. The exhibition introduced visitors to the world of Johnson & Johnson and focused on their active role in health care in China. A highlight of the exhibition was the installation of four Terracotta Warriors and artifacts on loan from the Xian Museum of Qin Terra-Cotta Figures. An engaging film showed the company’s important role in protecting and preserving these unique National Heritage relics.
